SFB Workshop on Dynamic Models of Strategic Investment under Uncertainty

 

We thank everyone for participation and contribution to our successful workshop.

 

December 17 – 18, 2018, Bielefeld University

The workshop covers newest developments in the analysis of dynamic investment problems in Industrial Organization, Real Options, and related areas. The workshop is carried out within the collaborative research center 'Taming Uncertainty' (CRC1283, https://www.sfb1283.uni-bielefeld.de/Pages/home) at Bielefeld University. and is funded by the German Science Foundation in the framework of this CRC.

Accommodation

Hotel Bielefelder Hof
The Hotel Bielefelder Hof is close to the central station and the tram station.

Travel to the Location (Studierendenwerk Bielefeld, Mogenbreede 2 - 4, Room 1.01)

From Bielefeld central station you could take a taxi to the location (approx. 10 mins, 15 €).

If you prefer to take the tram (there is a tram station directly near the hotel) please choose the red line No. 4, direction "Lohmannshof" to Bielefeld University "Universität" (Tram Map), or if you want to go to the workshop location directly, please get off at tram stop "Bültmannshof". From there it is about 600 metres by feet (see this map).

You can also choose the bus. Here please take Line No. 62 starting from "Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof" to the university and/or the workshop location (see draft and timetable)

Tickets can be bought at every station at vending machines. The price for a one-way ticket is 2,70 € and 8,80 € for four tickets. The tickets need to be stamped inside the tram/bus.

Travel to Bielefeld

If you are arriving by plane, we would recommend the following airports:

  • Hannover (approx. 110 km from Bielefeld)
    Intercity trains from Hannover to Bielefeld leave at least every hour. The journey takes approx. 50 mins (it is not necessary to change trains). You can take the S-Bahn (No. 5, departs every 30 mins – duration 12 mins) or the airport tansfer bus from Hannover airport to the City Air Terminal at the train station (departures every 20/30 minutes, travel time approx. 25 mins) – or you can take a taxi.
  • Düsseldorf (approx. 190 km from Bielefeld)
    From Düsseldorf airport there are direct connections to Bielefeld. The Intercity trains (ICE) leave every half hour during day time (duration approx. 1 ¾ hours). On some connections you may have to change at Dortmund, with the connecting trains stopping at the same platform.
