Erasmus Mundus Programme QEM

Bielefeld University offers an Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme QEM (Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics), a joint degree master’s programme of excellence together with three European universities:

  • Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
  • Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
  • Università Ca’Foscari Venezia

A standardized curriculum at all partner universities, joint degrees and longer student exchanges at partner universities are only a few characteristics of the renowned programme.

According to the chosen track within the QEM programme each student will stay at least one semester in Bielefeld. Here, the curriculum is equivalent to the regular Master’s Programme Quantitative Economics at Bielefeld University:

It is possible for the Master’s thesis to be supervised and assessed by faculty members at two partner universities, thus giving the opportunity to obtain a double degree.

Admission Requirements and Application

For the application to QEM there are two deadlines to be considered: Application for the programme has to be completed in May. To apply for the associated Erasmus Mundus scholarship, students have to turn in their application by January already.

Fees and Costs

Programme fees have to be paid each semester. Besides the Erasmus Mundus scholarship there are a variety of possibilities to receive financial support for both the programme and your stay in Bielefeld within the QEM programme:
