The Department of Business Administration and Economics in Bielefeld has been constantly ranked among the top 25 departments in Germany in the past several rankings. The

most recent ranking, economists from the Department are ranked among the top 250 in Germany which includes Alfred Greiner (102), Frank Riedel (103), Walter Trockel (116), Bernhard Eckwert (131), Herbert Dawid (133), and Göran Kauermann (178). Among the
emeriti, Volker Böhm is ranked on the eigth position; 2010 he reached the place 40 within the top 250. The
top 100 ranking of publications since 2007 includes Alfred Greiner and Frank Riedel. The international ranking Kalaitzidakis et al. (2003) shows the department at the place 180 in the world in All Economics. In subdisciplines, the department shows its strength in Macroecomics (117) and Microeconomic Theory (85). In particular, General Equilibrium Theory / Cooperative Games / Mathematical & Computational Economics (32), and Noncooperative Games / Bargaining & Matching (81) are the best ranked areas of the department.
